Nothing would do until we rented a paddle boat... which was so exciting for the boys...
Until Sam realized he couldn't reach the pedals...
Then it was boring and he wanted out!
We pulled the golf cart up to the edge of the canal and the boys jumped off. I got in the boat and switched with Pop Pop to help BJ get back to the dock (Sam wasn't happy to leave Pop Pop - ever - even when BJ and I offered to take just him out to eat fried shrimp and play mini golf!) BJ and I started off only to hear screaming, yelling, and crying on shore! Sam had released the park break [by pressing the gas pedal - THANK GOD the key was off or he would have been in the canal], but the golf cart rolled some before Mimi and Pop Pop caught it... and it rolled over Jake's leg! It was chaos for a few moments - that felt like an eternity - I was already casing out the BLACK water that I was about to walk on to get to my babies! We are thankful that Jake was fine - only frightened - and the golf cart tire was soft, and they were in sand! AND we are thankful that Mimi had turned the key off, or we would have had Sam and the golf cart in the canal with Jake laid out on land with [worse] skid marks on his leg!
Our family beach pic... it always looks more peaceful than it really was! But we won't remember that in a few years!?
