Entertainment...

Sam went to spend the weekend with Mimi and Pop Pop.... this doesn't mean that we leave Jake out, but he would RATHER stay home with Mommy (and Daddy ;-).  And Sam LOVES his time away from his brother (although I KNOW he misses us all dearly), so it just makes sense to let them have their quality time how they choose to!!!! I assure you I will have some pictures of Sam, but I thought I would share a few of Jake...

Every night, before I go to sleep, I go check on both boys and give them another kiss.  It doesn't usually wake them up, but if it does, it's worth it to me!  Jake is a wild sleeper - this is typically how I find him... so I always cover him back up and get him re-situated!!!

This was actually the main reason for this post... sometimes (well, usually), the darnedest things entertain these kids! BJ and I rearranged our bedroom a little.  Jake was determined to help, so this was the best place to put him to keep him out of the way! Once inside, all it required from us was talking to him (constantly), and closing the doors when he would open them (which was constant as well!)

But isn't he cute????

Snow Fun... Take 2!

So the snow stuck around... and the kids were out of school... and BJ was home from work... for one more day! Could I be greedy and hope for one more???

So we went adventuring again... and found that the snow was covered by a layer of ice!

And was that much harder for little legs to maneuver in...

But it was PERFECT  for sledding... errr... cardboard/innovative/redneck sledding!

And we went for a walk to see what the streets looked like... which had a good 1" layer of ice on them!

And again - was difficult for little legs to walk - Sam actually ended up on my back for a piggy-back ride home!

And then we sledded some more... with the neighbors!

BJ saved them from the post! Nobody said redneck sledding was SAFE!!!

And then the adults went for a spin...

Or spill... as it were! I only busted one knuckle!!!!

And one pretty snow picture for the road...

Snow Fun!

As usual - when snow comes to GA, everyone acts like we've never seen it before and the state shuts down... today was no exception! Only we got 6 inches or more!  It was great for playtime!!!

Sam and Jake could barely stand for tripping through it!

My little snow angels!

Sam...

Jake... he really had a hard time standing!

Snowball fight...

Stormie wouldn't be left out... poor thing (this is after she walked out on the porch this morning to squat immediately and leave us a few prizes.... then promptly fell off into the flower bed - we were laughing hysterically once she resurfaced!!!!)

Me and my boys!

Daddy and his boys...

Another deposit... at least this wasn't right at the front door!!!

Sam trying to get up the hill to his best bud, Mark!

Jake gave up... or more snow angels!?

Rolling down the hill (we're from the South, here people!!!!)

And warming by the fire!

Sam had to go to time-out for continuing to throw snowballs down Jake's shirt... but I couldn't leave him out of the pictures!!!

Run, BJ, RUN!

I know I don't blog about my wonderful husband very much - no reason in particular... the kids are pretty much the most interesting thing either of us has going on!!! ;-) And since he's totally involved (Thank the Lord), he gets his 'face time' on the blog when I'm posting about those two little guys!!!!

BUUUUT..... BJ has decided that now is the time to run a marathon.  Yes.  26.3 miles.  On foot.  Running.  Ridiculous, crazy, insane, dumb..... all words that come to mind! And of course, he chose to train at the coldest time of the year!?!?!?  HOWEVER - it is something he wants to do, so I am 100% on board and supportive!!!!  I told him that he didn't have to pay to run in the actual race though - I'll be happy to get a stopwatch, the Suburban and the kids hanging out the back and lead him around for 26.3 miles (I figured I would 'lead' so that he couldn't get run over and he could jump in the back at any point :-).  We can throw water at to him, protein packs, etc.... and I am POSITIVE it would be much more entertaining.  He didn't like that idea... he is already registered for the Atlanta Marathon!!!  I was hoping for the Orlando Marathon...... WHATEVER!!!!!!!

Anyway.... yesterday (before all the snow hit), he ran his longest training distance yet - 14 miles.  And if I were one to brag - he did it at a pace of 8.5 min/mile.  Impressive.  For anyone that knows BJ, he is a researcher... so he researched everything known to man about long-distance running, etc... including how to do ice baths to help alleviate sore muscles.  To me - no research needed: cold water + a couple bags of ice = ICE BATH!!!!  That's pretty much what BJ found out too! Hahaha!!!!  So we set him up when he got home from his run.....

I even added bath salts...
I really wish I had the sound effects along with these pictures (face only - no worries)!!!!!
And that was just his toe!!!!
Easing in.......
WHY would someone do this to themselves ON PURPOSE!?!?
Well, regardless.... he has my full support!  I will happily draw baths and take pictures!!!! HAHAHEEHEEHOHO!!!!!! (That was my best attempt at an 'evil' laugh!!!!!)

So, as I mentioned earlier - it snowed - A LOT (for GA - which is 6 inches and counting!)...... so....... we will be 'back to our regularly scheduled blogging' with the next post....... but I promise to update the marathon training progress as well - the entertaining parts anyway!!!!! ;-)
